Roblox thumbnail size and rules

• Size: 1920×1080 pixels, 16:9. It stays sharp on phones, tablets, PC and console.
• Formats: .jpg, .png, .gif, .tga or .bmp.
• Weight: keep each image under 3 MB.
• How many: up to 10 images or videos on the experience page.

Thumbnails appear in two places, each with its own tab under your experience's Thumbnails settings on the Creator Hub:

• Home page: the tile players scroll past. This is where Roblox can test several thumbnails against each other (see how Roblox thumbnail A/B testing works).
• Experience page: the carousel at the top of your game's page. You can reorder images and add alt text there.

Without uploads, Roblox makes one from your Studio camera at the last publish. It rarely sells the game.

Every thumbnail is reviewed against the Roblox Community Rules and Terms of Use before players see it. Show what the game really is: Roblox asks for imagery players can expect once they join, and its video rules ban gameplay that isn't in the game, graphics beyond what players will see, and ads or claims like "free" or discounts.

• Keep the bottom clear. Roblox lays details like the player count over the bottom of the tile: no key text or faces there.
• Little text. A short title or one word that says what you do in the game reads better than a sentence.
• One clear subject. A character, a pet or a boss in action, big enough to read on a phone. Ambiguous images confuse players.
• Color sets the mood. Bright and saturated for simulators and fantasy, dark and contrasted for horror.
• Make several. The best thumbnail is the one players pick. Upload 2 to 5 and let Roblox test them.
